Friday Favorites: Matching Sets

TGIF! This week was a hot one AND super exciting with the addition of wallpaper in our formal living room! #squeal

Note: My dear friend not only installed this for me without needing any help, she made me the most beautiful birthday gift!! I encourage you to support and cherish the talents of the people around you and  your own. Sharing our talents is a blessing.

Matching sets are so chic and special in that they are 2 pieces specifically made for each other. They're also great in that they can be styled separately.

Here are some pretty matching sets for warm weather ...

several colors

I love the proportions of the shorter top & high waisted bottom to elongate the legs.
The pleated from skort gives the look of a skirt but comfort of shorts.

You can dress this up with heels or casual with sneakers or sandals.

Palm Royale

If you are watching Palm Royale, then you already know how fabulous the fashion is! If you're not, it's on Apple TV and you can thank me later :)

Palm Beach, FL in the 1960's was full of color, extravagance and shine.  Me to a T!!!

These pants are so fun!
I purchased from Anthropologie in store and unfortunately they are not online yet
but when they are I'll link them and share on IG.

Palm Beach style to me is bright colors, big prints, caftans, silk scarves, mini shift dresses, big baubles, thick sunglasses and cute little handbags.

Here are some perfectly Palm Royale pieces ...

Right Out Back

With Spring Break just behind us and Summer ahead there can be lots of talk about vacations, plans and activities. That talk can get us super excited for the fun adventures but it can also create a variety of feelings if we don't have a full calendar.

Just recently Vivian came home with fairy house figurines from the Dollar Tree (it's her new favorite store!!!). We made a fairy garden at the base of one of our old trees and used pebble's she collected from our trip to the beach a couple weeks ago. It was the most fun afternoon and we enjoy going outside to play & make believe!

Personally, I have found that some of the most fun and memorable moments I have with my family are right out in our back yard.

It's home. It's where we are. It's us and the trees, grass and sun.

It's not fancy or big but it is ours.

Here are some ways to make magic right out back ...

FIRE PIT

S'mores and conversation are soooo good!

HAMMOCK

1 of my favorite things about our backyard is my hammock.
You can find me reading in it all Summer long! (maybe even a little nap)

SWING

This is our friend's backyard - isn't it magical?!!
We have a swing that my Mama gave me and I sit in it often.

READING

Outside is where I do most of my reading.
Actually I do as much of anything as I can outside!

GARDENING

We are scaling back this year (we've recognized our limits and the perseverance of deer)

BALL

SPLASH

the BEST!
You don't need a Country Club to feel or be cool!

PATIO LIGHTS

Sparkle!

Friday Favorites: 3D Florals

TGIF! This week has been full of new and exciting things. On Tuesday I started a new morning bible study on the book "None Like Him", and on Wednesday I embarked on a 27 week bible study with my church on the book 'Living by the Proverbs' and I'm hosting it at my house!!! Lots of Jesus and I'm here for it!
Vivian finally lost her front tooth and gracious does she look so grown. Last night Ryan surprised me with an early birthday date night with dinner and a candle light concert by the Charlotte Strings playing music by the one and only Taylor Swift! #AMAZING.

I came home from Spring Break to leaves on the trees and flowers coloring the yards. While florals for Spring are in fact not groundbreaking I do find 3D floral appliqués so. They add texture and boldness in way that's still soft and pretty.

Here are some 3D options ...

Forever & For ALL

When it comes to building a wardrobe I believe strongly in starting with a foundation of classic 'forever' pieces. These are garments that are well made, in timeless designs and span across seasons. They're not a 'one and done' wear but pieces you can style differently with accessories and shoes, can layer and dress up & casually.

While I shop big retailers the most I find great beauty, uniqueness and quality in smaller designers.  Julia Amory is one of those. Her designs are feminine with modern touches. I anticipate her pieces increasing in my closet.

This shirt dress has elements of sophistication with the collar, shape with the strong cap sleeve and cinched waist, interest with the patchwork print, fun with the oversized side pockets and femininity in the a-line midi skirt.

The fabric is a substantial cotton with a hint of stretch for a fit that holds and covered buttons for elegance.
I swapped the self fabric tie belt for a raffia one for added texture and contrast.

I styled this dress with a pair of sling back, low heel pumps (my new fav!!!) but plan to wear with flat sandals and even sneakers for casual occasions.

Young or seasoned, mom life or day at the office, luncheon or evening event - this dress can take you to all the places for years to come!
